For our final day on our Eurotrip we got up on the late side (7:45) and got everything packed up for hotel checkout.  We got some take-away breakfast at a nearby bakery and hopped the U-Bahn down to the Oktoberfest fairgrounds to check it out.  Read more »

For our third day in Germany we woke up at 5 AM and walked the 15 minutes to the U station, took the U to Hauptbahnhof where we caught the 6:52 train out to the Alps. Read more »

We picked up some breakfast take-away at a bakery on our 15 minute walk from the hotel to the U. We went to Schloss Nymphenburg on the U, which lets you off about a 25 minute walk from the palace. And of course, much as everything else, the palace was under construction. The rococo inside was beautiful, as was the rest of the interior. Read more »

On our first day in Munich we began with breakfast at an all day breakfast place, Cafe Altschwabing. We had some traditional German breakfasts; Will had eggs with pastrami, sausage and cheese, a pastry with spinach and cheese; I had muselli with milk, fruit, cheese and we shared a basket of bread.
